Moderator

Pastor Leroy M. Cole

Pastor Leroy M. Cole, a native of Meridian, Mississippi, is the son of Reverend James Cole and Minister Cora Lee Cole. He graduated from Meridian High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from Jackson State University (2001), followed by a Master of Ministry Degree (2004) and Doctor of Ministry Degree (2007) from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia. Dr. Cole also studied at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta.

His pastoral experience includes serving Rhodes Creek Baptist Church in Terry, Mississippi and Belmont Baptist Church in Raymond, Mississippi. Since 2008, he has been the senior pastor of the historic Mount Zion Baptist Church of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In leadership roles, Dr. Cole served as President of the First United Baptist District Congress of Christian Education (2009-2013) and is the past Moderator of the First United Baptist District Association.

 

Currently, he serves as:

  • Moderator of the newly incorporated First United Creek District Association

  • 2nd Vice-President of the Oklahoma Baptist State Convention

  • Director of the Moderators Division of the Oklahoma Baptist State Convention

  • 2nd Vice-President of the Moderators Division of the National Baptist Convention

 

He is a member of the Five-Star Revival Ministerial Alliance and formerly participated in the Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice's dialog study group. Dr. Cole oversees the classes taught at the church and has facilitated numerous classes at the First United Baptist District Congress of Christian Education and Association.
